Headgear and hairstyles used to be only an option to customize the look of your character. Therefore, they used to have no stat bonuses, until the level 50 hats have been released and some time later, the level 100 hats. They are now an "additional part" of the armor, since they also increase DEF, RES and other stats, while the 100 hats have improved stats and an ATT/MAG bonus. Later, an level 150 hat have been released: The Sacred Helmet for males/Sacred Hat for females, known just as "SH". It's awarded for purchasing the second 50.000 Gold Pack. (Each pack is $100.) The SH increases a little bit more on all stats, and gives both ATT and MAG to your character, in higher numbers then the 50 and 100 Hats, making the Sacred Helm/Hat the obvious best opton for headgear.
